History

The Volkswagen Kübelwagen literally meant “bucket” or “tub” car. The Kübel as it was known was a light military vehicle designed by Ferdinand Porsche and used by the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS during World War 2. The first prototype rolled out in 1938 and the Kübel was produced throughout the war. This is an original Kübelwagen that was built in 1941. It is in full working order and is considered very rare due to the fact that it was made early in the war and survived.
